The Canton Police Department exists to serve the community and to provide public safety services to the community. The city's Police Department is located at 200 Park Drive between Liberty and Union Streets.

The public works department is located at 303 Soldier Colony Road. The department is responsible for maintaining the city's roadways as well as the city's garage collections. Residential collection of trash is made twice each week. The south side of Peace Street is collected on Monday and Thursday, and the north side of Peace Street on Tuesday and Friday.
